01Product

What is GovPrimer?

GovPrimer is a government contracting intelligence and capture platform. It lets contractors search live federal, state, and local opportunities, analyze contract awards and competitors, research agencies, and run their full capture pipeline — with AI insights and instant alerts, all in one fast, collaborative workspace.

Who is GovPrimer for?

GovPrimer is built for anyone pursuing government contracts — from solo small-business owners and 8(a) firms to mid-size GovCon companies and prime contractors' business-development teams. The same intelligence and capture workflow scales from one user to an entire BD organization.

What can I do with GovPrimer?

You can search and filter live opportunities by agency, NAICS, set-aside, place of performance, and keyword; save searches and get instant alerts; review award history and competitor profiles; analyze agency spending; score bid/no-bid fit with AI; and manage pursuits through a shared capture pipeline from first sighting to award.

Does GovPrimer use AI, and can I trust it?

Yes. GovPrimer uses AI to summarize solicitations, score how well an opportunity fits your business, and draft capture plans. Every AI insight is grounded in the underlying official solicitation, so you can trace and verify it — the AI assists your judgment rather than replacing the source data.

Can my whole team use GovPrimer?

Yes. GovPrimer is multi-user with roles, invitations, shared searches, and a shared capture pipeline. The Team plan includes up to 10 users, and Enterprise supports unlimited users with SSO and advanced security.

02Data & coverage

Where does GovPrimer get its data?

GovPrimer is built entirely on official public sources: federal solicitations from SAM.gov, contract award and contractor data from USAspending.gov, and grants from Grants.gov. Data is refreshed continuously, and because it comes from public systems of record, you can verify it yourself.

How fresh is the opportunity data?

Opportunity, award, and grant data is refreshed continuously from the official sources so you see new solicitations, amendments, and award notices promptly. Saved-search alerts notify you when matching new opportunities appear.

Does GovPrimer cover state and local (SLED) contracts?

GovPrimer covers federal opportunities from SAM.gov and federal grants from Grants.gov today, with award and contractor intelligence from USAspending.gov. State, local, and education (SLED) coverage expands through connected data sources.

Do I need a SAM.gov account to use GovPrimer?

No. You can search and analyze opportunities in GovPrimer without a SAM.gov login. However, you must be registered in SAM.gov with an active entity (UEI) to actually submit bids on and win federal contracts.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Paid plans include CSV export and API access so you can pull opportunities, awards, and pipeline data into your own tools. We believe your data is yours — there's no lock-in.

03Pricing

How much does GovPrimer cost?

GovPrimer is free to start. Pro is $29/mo (or $290/yr) for 1 user, Team is $99/mo (or $990/yr) for up to 10 users, and Enterprise is custom-priced for unlimited users. Pricing is published — no mandatory sales calls to learn what it costs.

Is there really a free plan?

Yes — the Free plan is free forever and requires no credit card. It includes live federal and SLED opportunity search, browsing of awards, contractors, and agencies, and one saved search. It's a genuine way to use GovPrimer, not just a time-limited teaser.

Is there a free trial of the paid plans?

Yes. You can start a free trial of the paid features with no credit card and explore AI insights, unlimited saved searches and alerts, award and competitor intelligence, and the capture pipeline.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Plans are month-to-month (or annual if you choose to save), and you can cancel anytime. Because you can export your data, there's nothing holding you hostage.

04Comparisons

How is GovPrimer different from GovWin IQ?

GovPrimer is a modern, transparently-priced alternative to GovWin IQ. It pairs live opportunity data with AI fit scoring and a full capture pipeline, with published pricing instead of opaque enterprise quotes and a faster, cleaner interface built for daily use. See the GovPrimer vs GovWin IQ comparison for a full breakdown.

How is GovPrimer different from HigherGov?

Both GovPrimer and HigherGov surface live public federal data. GovPrimer adds AI opportunity insights and capture/pipeline management on top, making it an end-to-end find-pursue-win platform rather than primarily a search tool. See the GovPrimer vs HigherGov comparison for details.

Why not just use SAM.gov or USAspending.gov directly?

SAM.gov and USAspending.gov are the free official sources of record, and GovPrimer is built on them. GovPrimer adds advanced search, saved alerts, competitor and award intelligence, AI fit scoring, and capture management on top — turning raw public data into a workflow you can actually run your business development on.
